A Case Study of Measuring Efficiency of Public Banks through DEA Approach Using CCR Model
Abstract
In this paper an attempt has been made to review research conducted on the efficiency measurement and performance of the Indian public banking sector by using Data envelopment analysis. Input-oriented DEA model under Constant Returns to Scale (CRS) assumption was used. The objectives of this paper are to analyze the soundness and the second is to measure the efficiency of 14 public sector banks based on market. The efficiency of each company in comparison with other companies of the banking sector is estimated by considering 7 inputs and 6 outputs to measure the efficiency.
