The Effect of Budgetary Control on Financial Performance: A Case Study of a Mining Company

This study aimed to establish the effect of budgetary control on financial performance of First Quantum Minerals. The study used a mixed method approach using both quantitative and qualitative data. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources that included financial reports for First Quantum Minerals and a sample of 98 employees at First Quantum Minerals using questionnaires and informal interviews. Data analysis was done using financial ratios, SPSS, correlation analysis and content analysis. The study found that budgetary control had a positive effect on financial performance for First Quantum Minerals.
