Аннотация

This study is anchored in the resource-based view theory as well as the relational view theory, and sought to investigate the relationship between Supply chain Integration and Organisational Agility in the hospitality industry. With specific focus on four-star hotels in the iconic Niger Delta city of Port Harcourt, the study adopted a survey approach, using primary data obtained from staff of these hotels (being the population of the study). Four hypotheses were tested using Spearman’s Rank Correlation to evaluate the relationship between the operational dimensions of Supply Chain Integration (the dependent variable) and Organisational Agility (the independent variable). Results from these analyses reveal a strong correlation between the operational dimensions of Supply Chain Integration – Internal Integration and Supplier Integration – with those of Organisational Agility – Operational Flexibility and Adaptability. Going by these findings, the study concludes that Supply Chain Integration (as measured by Internal Integration and Supplier Integration) is a strong predictor of Organisational Agility, the criterion variable. The research has thus demonstrated the potential to enhance operational flexibility and adaptability by these firms in the industry while concurrently meeting customer service criteria. It is recommended herein that hospitality firms in the Niger Delta, especially four-star hotels, strive to enhance their organizational agility leveraging on supply chain integration as an essential strategic management tool for improving intra-firm communication and coordination across the critical functional domains. This could be mostly achieved through improved integration of data and information system exchange.
