The theory of multimodal discourse analysis, feminism, and feminist film theory were used to analyze the language used to subjugate women respectively. This research used the qualitative method of analysis which focuses on the content of two films. We sampled Nollywood movies: Say No to Abusive Marriage (2017) by Chidi Anyanwu Chidox and Say No to Domestic Violence (2018) by Emeka Bishop Nwabunze. The interpretive approach was used to analyze the films and the results were that the language used in addressing feminist conflict situations in Nollywood movies is a manifestation of violence and there is gender inequality as women are viewed as subordinate to men and of lower social status.
