Contribution of Family Background on Academic Performance of Vulnerable Girls in Nyaruguru District, Rwanda

This paper aims at assessing the contribution of family background on academic performance of vulnerable girls in Rwanda. The assessment goes to what is the contribution of the family background on the academic performance of the vulnerable girls under Malayika Mulinzi program.
For gathering the information, the cross-section survey design was used for 116 respondents. The probabilistic sampling technique was applied to select the respondents. The SSPS version 21 was in use to analyze the data. This study findings revealed that the parents’ educational level might perhaps be the main source of influence determining a child’s academic achievement.
